Kiara is a true visionary.
She has style, grace, innovation, and indescribable talent, making her one of the most sought after stylists in the industry.
Born into the industry, Kiara spent her early life studying her mother, an accomplished stylist and salon owner, and always requested to accompany her at educational seminars.
Kiara began cosmetology school at the age of 16. She worked in her mother's salon, established a partnership with her, and soon after set her sights on Beverly Hills.
Joseph Martin Salon on Rodeo Drive was Kiara's first home for creating inspirational hair. Kiara honed her skills at Joseph Martin, not only becoming a star stylist but earning the role of Educational Director. Knowing firsthand the importance of proper training, she spent time intensively training the salon’s assistants, helping to further their careers and ultimately the success of Joseph Martin Salon.
Prive’ Salon came along 2 years later and asked Kiara to join their prestigious ranks. The skill she demonstrated at Prive’ led her to many guest appearances on makeover shows and a leading role in Los Angeles and New York Fashion Weeks. Her time at Prive’ helped her develop a devoted celebrity clientele and a reputation for being the best at her craft.
In 2004, Jonathan Antin recruited Kiara to be an integral part of his new Beverly Hills salon, which was to be featured on the Bravo series BLOW OUT. The show was an international success and she rapidly became the most requested stylist, desired for her unique expertise in the application of hair extensions.
Her love for extensions has led her to her latest venture - Velvet Star. Yes, Kiara has launched her own extension line. This was the next step in Kiara’s dream to allow women all over the world to have the kind of hair most only dream of.
Seeking a more private atmosphere, Kiara joined forces with Byron Williams. She took over his studio on the infamous Robertson Boulevard to create a peaceful, yet exciting place to connect with her clients. It is here that Kiara focuses on creating the most talked about heads of hair in Los Angeles.
